Planning Commission Public Hearing on Change Area 12 (Northshore)

On January 10, 2012, the City Council held a public hearing to determine the appropriate land use designations for property along the City’s northern shoreline identified in the General Plan 2030 as “Change Area 12 (Northshore).” The City Council considered three different land use options for the change area, but was unable to reach a majority consensus on the matter and referred it back to the Planning Commission for a recommendation. The Planning Commission will consider the matter at its regularly scheduled meeting of February 16, 2012. The meeting will take place at 6:30 PM in the Richmond City Council Chambers located at 440 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond. Planning Commission Recommends General Plan for Adoption!

On November 3rd, 2011, the Planning Commission adopted a resolution recommending that the City Council adopt the Richmond General Plan with specific amendments. The Commission had previously adopted a separate resolution on October 20th, 2011 recommending that the City Council certify the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the General Plan. The City Council is scheduled to commence its General Plan adoption meetings in January 2012. Please call Hector Rojas, Associate Planner at 510-620-6662 should you have any questions.
