The Planning Process

Successful planning for the City of Richmond means asking challenging questions and gathering thoughtful answers. As we begin to revise the General Plan, many questions arise:

  • How can we strengthen and sustain our communities?
  • How can we enhance our neighborhoods?
  • How can we preserve the environment?
  • How can we create economic opportunity?
  • How can we expand educational and cultural horizons?
  • How can we promote health and safety?
  • How can we connect our neighborhoods and our city?

To find answers to these and other questions, the City will be holding a series of visioning sessions, community workshops and public meetings. For more information, download the planning and community involvement calendar (.pdf, 100k), or view dates and locations of public meetings.
